Board 30 minutes before departure at Fox’s Marina, where our crew will welcome you aboard. Choose your seat on deck for the river breeze or inside the elegant saloon beside the cosy wood burner in cooler months.
As the Captain gives a short introduction, we’ll take your drink orders before gently casting off. Sit back, relax, and enjoy live commentary filled with stories of the river’s heritage, wildlife, and maritime history.
The Voyage
Your journey begins through the Port of Ipswich, passing historic grain and timber terminals alongside busy RORO ferry operations, before gliding beneath the striking Orwell Bridge.
As the landscape opens into peaceful Suffolk countryside, we pass Woolverstone Marina, the Royal Harwich Yacht Club, and the charming hamlet of Pin Mill. Continuing towards Levington and the vast Port of Felixstowe, we turn opposite the historic HMS Ganges at Shotley and the Harwich shoreline, before returning upriver.
Throughout your cruise, a fully stocked bar and curated wine list are available to complement your dining experience.
The Allen Gardiner carries a maximum of 12 passengers and is available for exclusive private charters or shared experiences.

Supper Cruise: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm (March – October)
Dinner Cruise: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (May – September)
Minimum passenger numbers apply - 8 adults required for all cruises.
