The Experience

Board 30 minutes before departure at Fox’s Marina, where our friendly crew will welcome you aboard. Choose your seat either out on deck for the river breeze or inside the elegant dining saloon beside our cosy wood burner in winter.
As the Captain gives a short safety briefing, we will take your drink orders and prepare for departure. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the captain’s live commentary, rich with stories of the river’s heritage and wildlife.

The Voyage

Your cruise begins by passing through the Port of Ipswich, with its historic grain and timber terminals and the busy RORO vehicle ferry operations. Glide under the striking Orwell Bridge, where the industrial landscape gives way to peaceful Suffolk countryside.

We sail past Woolverstone Marina, the Royal Harwich Yacht Club, and the picturesque Pin Mill, before reaching Levington Marina. The cruise continues towards the impressive Port of Felixstowe, turning opposite the historic HMS Ganges Naval Training School at Shotley and the scenic Harwich Pier and Parkeston Quay, before returning upriver to Ipswich.

Throughout your voyage, a fully stocked bar and curated wine list are available to complement your meal, ensuring the perfect experience from start to finish.

The Allen Gardiner carries a maximum of 12 passengers (including children) and is available for exclusive private charters or individual bookings, where you will share the experience with other guests.

Cruise Times

Lunch Cruise: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm (All year round)
Supper Cruise: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm (March – October)
Dinner Cruise: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (May - September)

Minimum passenger number: 8 adults required for all cruises.

Cruise duration may vary slightly due to weather, tide, or seasonal conditions.
