Step aboard the Lady Florence and experience one of Suffolk’s most memorable dining adventures.
Cruising the Rivers Alde and Ore for three peaceful hours, you will enjoy a freshly prepared meal cooked on board using the finest local Suffolk produce.

Sailing all year round, Lady Florence is as inviting in winter with her cosy wood burner - as she is in summer, when guests can relax on deck and soak up the sunshine.

The Voyage

Board 15 minutes before departure from Orford Quay, where our friendly crew will welcome you aboard.
Settle in with a drink on deck or in the elegant dining saloon as the Captain gives a short safety briefing, then relax as we gently cast off.

We cruise upstream towards Aldeburgh, passing saltmarshes and creeks rich in birdlife. The river runs alongside the coast before turning inland towards Iken and Snape, and we turn in front of Aldeburgh Sailing Club, a perfect viewpoint over this beautiful stretch of the Alde.

Around an hour into the journey, the ship’s bell rings, a timeless Lady Florence tradition to signal that your meal is ready. Move into the saloon to enjoy your freshly cooked dishes, served with full table service and warm hospitality.

After dining, we sail around Havergate Island, the RSPB nature reserve famous for its avocets and seals, before returning to Orford Quay. It’s a complete circumnavigation, tranquil, scenic, and utterly unique.

Lady Florence carries a maximum of 12 passengers (including children) and is available for exclusive private charters or individual bookings, where you share the experience with other guests.

Cruise Times

Lunch Cruise: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm (All year round)
Supper Cruise: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm (March – October)
Dinner Cruise: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (June & July only)

Minimum passenger numbers: 8 adults in summer, 6 in winter.
